Amphitheater Public Schools Special Education Department has a continuum of Special Education services in every school to help children reach their highest potential. We employ proven instructional models to meet each child’s unique needs. Our specially trained teachers and staff help students set goals and then let them see the possibilities. Rillito Center is a place where students from preschool to age 22 with the highest needs learn to be as independent as possible. It is a state-of-the art facility where students use assistive technology to enhance their learning; everything from tablets, to talking books. It is a place where the journey is a series of small steps, with many celebrations along the way.
Mission: The mission of Rillito is to meet the developing needs of each student through positive, safe and individually challenging learning experiences in a partnership of students, parents, staff and community.
