Hi there!

My name is Ms. Landen.

So...who am I? I am a person who knew I wanted to be a teacher after teaching pre-school in my Sophomore year (2nd year) in High School. I went to Bradley University, in Peoria, IL., and earned my BS degree with a double major in elementary, and secondary education. Currently, I am enrolled in Pima Community College to earn my Special Education endorsement. I am already AZ certified as a K-14 Vocational Education Teacher with an ESL endorcement.

I was the administrator of a Charter school, then taught a self-contained all subjects to 15, 7th and 8th graders for 3 years, at Coronado K-8. I also have a AZ Real Estate Licence, US pilots licence, and when living in Chicago, I booked comedy clubs and managed stand-up comics for 9 years. My partner of 25 years, and I have B&B and an environmentaI non profit called WOW Arizona. (Look it up to see GREAT wildlife photos.) When he isn't baking muffins for the B&B guests, and Sonia, (AMS's registrar), keeping up with the gardens and guests keeps him very busy. I have 4 sons. #1 (taught English in China for 8 years) and #4 sons and their families currently live in Northern California. #3 son is in Tucson, and #2 son lives in Las Vegas with his wife. The one, now living in Vegas has been an  Asian consumer products importer for 15 years, 12 of which he lived in China and speaks the language. Right now, he is busy with importing medical supplies directly from China to Hospitals such as Mt. Sinai, in New York.

I love working at AMS. The diversity of the students is a never ending learning experience for me. I know my culture. I great day is when a student teaches me something about their culture.
