I am thrilled to be the Academic Interventionist at Donaldson for the 2019-2020 school year!
Defining Moment in Education
I had the most amazing experience in elementary school! I loved coming to school each day. Once I entered the student teaching portion of my coursework, I was amazed by my cooperating teacher. She was able to reach every single student and created a beautiful holistic experience. At this point, I was able to put together my amazing elementary experience and all the behind-the-scenes work that is took to create that. I was positive that education was the right path for me.
Core Educational Beliefs
My varied experience as a teacher has shaped how I view education. I believe that every child is deserving of a holistic educational experience that places equal emphasis on social-emotional & academic growth. I believe in cultivating a child’s creativity through explorative learning and through developing meaningful relationships with children and families. I enjoy implementing a hands-on, inquiry-based method of learning that engages children.
I am currently in my 9th year of teaching. I have taught 1st grade, 1st grade SEI, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. Before joining the Donaldson community, I taught a blended 1st and 2nd grade class.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy spending time with my family & friends, my sweet dog, Charlotte, traveling, and baking bread.
