Ms. Rose Hooton
Hello! My name is Rose Hooton and I joined the La Cima team as a Special Education Resource Teacher. My degree is in American Sign Langauge Studies with a minor in Interpreting. I have since broadedned my focus by adding a study in Mild/Moderate disabilities. I am a native of Tucson, Arizona but I love to bounce from place to place. I enjoy meeting new people and furry friends (I have three rescue dogs). I have spent considerable time in California, Georgia, and the Carolinas. My most rewarding trip was spent in Honduras where I helped to renovate a school for Deaf/HH children. Deaf culture is a big part of my life. Both of my parents are Deaf which influenced my decision to work as a sign language interpreter. I have always been involved with children whether it be through summer camps, coaching basketball/volleyball, tutoring or teaching. Working with children is truly my passion and I look forward to my third year here at La Cima Middle School. As far as what I like to do in my free time: I enjoy hiking, playing basketball, cooking with friends, singing, and hanging out with my dogs. My goal is to aid children in improving their critical thinking and problem solving skills. The greatest investment I can make is in the future and the future is our kids. Go Cardinals!
