Ms. Rose Hooton
Hello! My name is Rose Hooton and I joined the La Cima team as a Special Education Resource Teacher. My degree is in American Sign Language Studies with a minor in Interpreting. I have since broadened my focus by adding a study in Mild/Moderate disabilities. I am a native of Tucson, Arizona but I love to bounce from place to place. I enjoy meeting new people and furry friends (I have three rescue dogs). I have spent considerable time in California, Georgia, and the Carolinas. My most rewarding trip was spent in Honduras, where I helped to renovate a school for Deaf/HH children. Deaf culture is a big part of my life. Both of my parents are Deaf which influenced my decision to work as a sign language interpreter. I have always been involved with children, whether it be through summer camps, coaching basketball/volleyball, tutoring or teaching. Working with children is truly my passion and I look forward to my seventh year with Amphitheater Public Schools! As far as what I like to do in my free time, I enjoy hiking, playing basketball, boardgames, cooking with friends, singing, and hanging out with my dogs. My goal is to aid children in improving their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The greatest investment I can make is in the future and the future is our kids. Go Cardinals!
