Harelson's Intervention Program - Read to Grow
The program, Read to Grow is designed to provide extra help in the area of reading. This is a supplement to the regular classroom curriculum. Students that attend Read to Grow come for 30-40 minutes 4 days a week.
Read to Grow uses a district-wide intervention curriculum called Wilson Fundations®. Fundations is a systematic and explicit curriculum that includes: Phonemic awareness, Phonics word study, High frequency word study, Reading fluency, Vocabulary, Comprehension strategies, Handwriting and Spelling.
This year in Read to Grow we will also be using the new AMIRA program for kindergarten and first grade students. This is a computer based program that is geared towards the students level.
