Defining Moments in my Education
The moments of education that matter the most are the little ones, when one chooses how they are going to commit to learning. I found that making the committment of doing whatever it took to learn the most difficult mathematics I had ever been taught, worked. I discovered that with hard work, consistency and dedication that I could learn complex multiple step problem solving skills.
Core Educational Beliefs
My core belief is that through education we develop individually as greater versions of ourselves and collectively as a society we solve many of humanities problems creating a better life. It will be through education that the fate of the planet can be understood and solved.
Prior Experience
Amphitheater High School (2020 – present)
I have taught as a certified Secondary Math Teacher for 5 years at public and charter schools. Prior to that, I worked with students individually providing support in math and other academic skills. I have also worked as a substitute teacher for several years as well.
Why I am Committed to Amphi
I am committed to the students and families of Amphi High School because of the opportunity I have to support their goals and dreams through education. It is clear to me that throughout the Amphi community there is a dedication to student success.
Hobbies and Interests
I have a daughter who lives in Brooklyn, NY. I also have 3 dogs- Max, Jaimme and Harmony and one cat-Princess. I am entrepreneurial and enjoy creating business opportunities. When the mountain isn't on fire, or the sun boiling hot, I enjoy hiking and biking.
I do my best to keep up with topics like economics, health, social justice, politics, pop culture, film and music. Naps are nice too!
