Mrs. Oros

Welcome to our Second Grade English Language Classroom.  My name is Lourdes Oros and I have been teaching since August 2000.  I graduated from the University of Arizona ohohowith a Bilingual Endorsement. I have been teaching at Nash since August 2000.

My husband Marty and I have been married 33 years and have 4 grown children and two granddaughters. We lived in California and Texas before we moved to Arizona. We have lived in Tucson since 1996 and love the weather and beautiful mountains that surround the city.

 Defining Moment in my Education

My defining moments are when I receive a letter or a card from a previous student or parent giving me thanks and letting me know that they still think about me. Another significant moment is receiving an invitation to a high school graduation from one of my previous students. It makes me realize that I was an important part of their education. One day someone gave me thanks for serving my country as an educator. I never thought of it that way! Then it made me realize that as teachers I am preparing my students for the future. Some day one of my students will be my doctor, dentist, paramedic, nurse, care giver etc.

Core Educational Belief

I believe that all students have a desire to be successful in reaching their academic goals. It is my responsibility to recognize their strengths and areas of concerns and plan accordingly. I believe I should never give up on a child, but maintain a positive, encouraging, safe and orderly learning environment. It is imperative to work together with other teachers to ensure that all students succeed.
