Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Theisz Michele

I am originally from New Jersey. I graduated from Westwood High School back in Jersey. From there I went on to Elmira College where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Adolescence Education and History. After that I went on to Grand Canyon University for my Master of Education degree in Special Education. I am sure your all thinking that must be what started me with Arizona but nope! My mom was born and raised in Tucson so I always had Tucson on my mind, I just never thought I'd end up here. However, after my masters degree was finished I searched for jobs and one day I came across a posting for a job in Tucson. Something in me made me think that could be really cool so I submitted an application. It was that application that brought me out here in 2011 and I haven't looked back since!! I love being out here and while of course, I'll always be a Jersey girl at heart, I like to think that I'm becoming an Arizonan too. I am so excited to be a part of Amphi High School.

When a Special Education Student turns 16 they have to have a Transition Plan in place. This Transition Plan describes how that student is going to transition from high school to life after, be it college, trade school, work or something else. In my job, I met with the student and then wrote the transition plan. In addition I helped the student carry out the plan and worked with them to get ready for life after high school. I also worked closely with the student's guidance counselor and teachers to best support the student.
