Ms. Amanda Mullon

About Me:

Welcome, my name is Amanda Mullon. I have lived in Tucson all my life and love it here more and more with each passing year. I attended St. John's from K-8 then headed to Salpointe High School. Fun fact, my oldest son and I had the same amazing teacher for 1st grade nearly 25 years apart! After a few years at Pima College and solidifying my decision to become an elementary school teacher, I entered the Early Childhood Education program at the U of A and graduated in 2009.

I’ve mainly worked as a Kindergarten teacher since 2013 and am currently the Curriculum, Instruction and Intervention Support Specialist (CIISS) here at Innovation Academy, mainly supporting K/1st students on their reading journey. I was previously the Pandemic Interventionist here at I.A. and I enjoyed this position so much that I have decided to take my education to the next level and pursue a career as a full-time Reading Interventionist. It will take some time and additional learning, but teaching children to read has become a true passion of mine.

My youngest son recently graduated from Innovation and is loving the band life at Cross Middle (big thanks to Mr. Cardon for helping him learn the sax!). My oldest son is in his senior year at CDO and is considering joining the Forestry program at NAU when he graduates. Outside of school I enjoy hiking around Arizona, xeriscaping around my house, trying new recipes and seeking out new adventures through travel with my family.
