Welcome to Fifth Grade
I'm excited to welcome you to our classroom! This is my thirtieth year teaching, and I can't believe how fast that time has flown! I taught at Keeling Elementary for eight years, and am now in my nineteenth year at Walker. I love being a teacher and seeing students’ faces light up!
Defining Moment in Education
I knew I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was a very little girl. My grandfather used to talk about how I wanted to play school at the age of three, but I always had to be the teacher! I have spent my entire career teaching elementary, teaching grades second through fifth, though I have spent the majority of my time in fourth and fifth grade. I cannot imagine doing anything else.
Core Educational Belief
I believe every child has the potential to succeed. I want every child in my classroom to love coming to school, and to love learning. It is important to me that children build confidence in themselves and become independent learners.
