Cheryl Wojdyla
Welcome Message
Ms. Wojdyla is excited to be joining the Cross team this year. She enjoyed a summer of traveling Transatlantic from Florida to Portugal, stopping at London, and also chilling in South Dakota (well, and working her summer jobs). Previously Coach Wojdyla taught physical education at Wilson K-8 (9 years) and Tanque Verde High School (3 years). Cheryl grew up in the Amphitheater District and was part of the first graduating class of Ironwood Ridge High School (go Class of 2004!) where she lettered in Basketball, Volleyball, and Drama. She graduated from the University of Arizona Magna Cum Laude in 2008 with a BSE in Physical Education and holds certification in Health as well.
Ms. Wojdyla has coached volleyball for over 10 years including club, middle, and all high school levels. She is currently the Freshmen Head and Assistant Varsity Coach at Ironwood Ridge. In her free time, Ms. Wojdyla enjoys being with family and friends, and travels as much as possible. It isn't uncommon for her to be out-of-state (or country), possibly at a theme park, during school breaks WITH family or friends.
Core Educational Belief
All students have the ability to succeed in class regardless of their athletic abilities. An individual's body is a piece of machinery that we live with all our life so we should learn how to take care of it! In class we strive to give students the tools to be able to use and maintain their body. Physical education also has an emphasis on social responsibility to help students practice cooperative, collaborative, and communicative skills for the real world.
