Mrs. Parkey

Welcome to room B102 home of the Air Force Academy Falcons!  I have been teaching kindergarten at Prince since 1998. I began my career in 1997 with Amphitheater as a substitute teacher. During that year, I had three long-term sub assignments here at Prince and knew I wanted a permanent home.  I love this school and plan on staying here until I retire.

Prior Experience

I did not go into education upon graduation.  I began a career in healthcare. I worked as a receptionist, administrative assistant, human resources representative, front office supervisor, human resources director, and eventually was running seven healthcare facilities as a center administrator with CIGNA.  After thirteen years, I followed my heart and went back to teaching.

Core Education Beliefs

It is my goal to instill a love of learning and a thirst for knowledge in all of my students.  School should be a place students want to come.  They should feel safe and loved, and be excited to learn.

Defining Moment in Education

My mom claimed I came home from my first day in kindergarten and said I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher when I grew up!

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy gardening, crocheting, reading, home projects, and am very active in my church.
