Ms. Andragayle Pye

The 2019-2020 school year will be my thirteenth year in the Amphitheater School District.  This year, I will be teaching 7th grade Advanced Language Arts/Regular Language Arts and 7th /8th grade AVID at La Cima Middle School.

My teaching experience extends from Mexico to the United States, for the past 26 years. I had taught English as a Second Language in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico for seven years. My teaching experience was in Kindergarten through Second Grade. I also owned my own English Language school for after-school tutoring for students ages 5-adult. Upon returning to the United States, I taught Language Arts in an alternative charter high school for at-risk youth ages 16-21 in Tucson for seven years.  My seven years at Coronado K-8 included Reading, Writing, Career Technical Education, Writing lab, and Intermediate/Advanced Chorus (Show Choir).

My personal life revolves around raising my 16-year-old boy/girl twins. They attended Coronado K-8 third through eighth grade.  They are currently juniors at Amphi High (GO PANTHERS!!).

Defining Moment in Education

My fourth grade teacher, Miss Powell, instilled a love of education in me. Throughout my schooling, I have many inspiring teachers that have led to my desire to become a teacher. Their love of teaching and sharing with others caused me to want to pursue the same career.

Core Educational Belief

My educational philosophy stems from years of teaching a diverse population of students. I believe that every student has the right and ability to be successful in the classroom (and life in general). It is my responsibility to ensure the students are given every opportunity to learn and thrive. I am completely dedicated to the improvement and well-being of each and every student I teach. I treat every student equally, no matter where they come from or the experiences they have had in life. I also believe that education should be an enjoyable experience. Because every student learns differently, I structure my lessons accordingly. My lessons reach the kinesthetic, auditory, and visual learners. I work very closely with all the students empowering them to become active participants in the classroom. I am proud when a student reaches their goal and graduates. Helping others achieve their goals and dreams is the reason I became a teacher.
