About Me

Hello and welcome to 4th grade!  My name is Kathryn Linaman and I will be your child's teacher this year.  I am from Tucson (bear down!) and have lived here most of my life.  I attended Harelson from 2nd-5th grade, so it has been an amazing experience to come back and teach at a school that is so near and dear to my heart.  I am so excited to see what this year will bring and for all of the amazing memories that we will make!

Defining Moment in Education

I come from a family of educators and I was always convinced that I would never teach after seeing all of the long hours that were put in both at work and at home .  However, my mindset  changed when I went to visit my sister's classroom my freshman year of college.  It was such a joy to go in and volunteer and I found myself going back more and more.  From there, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher and have a classroom of my own someday.

Core Educational Belief

My philosophy of education can be summed up in this manner: as an educator, I must be consistent, flexible, have a genuine concern for my students and demonstrate a love for learning.

Teachers play a very significant role in developing the character and minds of their students.  I find this to be a privilege as well as a tremendous responsibility.  I have great hope and high expectations for all of my students knowing that my attitude towards them and the learning process can greatly influence their level of achievement in the classroom and possibly throughout their lives.

It is my desire as a teacher to share strong passion and love for learning with my students in an effort to generate that same passion and love for learning in them.  To me, that is the ultimate goal in teaching.
