• Dear Parents,

    I get it.

You're trying to juggle so many things right now. Life can be complicated enough in the best of circumstances, and now we've added a pandemic, stay-in-place orders, possible job loss, lack of toilet paper, and so many other things into the equation. It can be very overwhelming.

I am taking your child's education seriously, but I am also interested in the overall health and well-being of you, your child, and your family. With that in mind, I make you the following promises:

    - I will not over-communicate. I will send you what I absolutely must, and nothing more. You're getting emails, Reminds, Class Dojo messages, all from many different teachers, and it's even worse if you have multiple kids. So, I will keep it on a have-to-know basis. Have a question? Contact me. I can email, Zoom, phone, text- whatever works best for you, at a time that works for you. I'm available 24/7 if necessary. I have office hours and can make an appointment.

    - None of my work should cause you or your child strife, anxiety, confusion, or exasperation. If it causes any of those, tell your child to put it down and we'll come back to it when we're ready. Have them contact me. I'm on Instagram and they can DM me. I'm on YouTube and they can comment to me. I'm on Remind and they can text me. I check my email every single time the phone beeps.

    - I will be as flexible as I can to make this as workable as possible. (State and Federal laws notwithstanding, obviously.)

History should be about hearing cool stories and observing and learning about human nature and the consequences of cause and effect. I want your kids to enjoy history- even now.

    Brian Post
