WELCOME

After many years in the middle school classroom, I am now a Curriculum and Instruction Support Specialist. I have experience that will be used to support teachers new to the profession and new to Amphitheater School District.  My focus will be on planning and preparation, the classroom environment, instruction and professional responsibilities.  I am looking forward to coaching and collaborating with teachers.

I grew up in the Amphitheater School District and I graduated from Canyon del Oro High School. I attended the University of Arizona and earned my Bachelor's and  Master's degrees.  I enjoy teaching 6th grade math and science and the majority of my career has been in the middle school setting.  Both of my children have attended Amphi schools with great success. 

Core Educational Belief 

Children, as well as adults, must be accountable for their own success and failure. Without failure, we don't appreciate our successess. We cannot make individuals learn, but we can support and encourage and give people the tools and the motivation to WANT TO LEARN and to learn HOW TO LEARN in their own way.   I believe all of my students CAN be successful.  I make a difference to my students by being kind, compassionate and by being an advocate for them. I create a loving and safe environment to inspire motivation and a love of learning.   We are in this together and must trust each other to benefit our students.

La Cima Middle School

Helped with the planning and development of La Cima Middle School and Wilson K-8 School in the Amphitheather District.  Joined the staff in the first years these schools opened to create curriculum and programs that focus on the middle school child.
