2020-2021 school year

I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I began my college career at the oldest college west of the Allegheny Mountains, founded by my ancestor John McMillan, Washington and Jefferson College. I received my Bachelor's degree from the U of A in secondary education with an emphasis in Social Studies and Spanish. My Master's degree is in elementary education from the University of Phoenix.

This is my twenty-second year teaching overall, and it is my fifteenth year at Coronado. I began my career as a long-tern substitute at Safford Middle School in TUSD. I taught Language Arts for five years, and I taught Social Studies one year at Sierra Middle School in the Sunnyside Unified School District. I was also the news director and cross-country coach at Sierra. In addition to Social Studies, I have taught Reading and Writing, and I have coached Cross Country, Soccer, and Track, at Coronado. I am highly qualified to teach K-12, Social Studies, Spanish, Language Arts, SEI/ESL classes, and I have my  REACH endorsement.

My husband is a disabled Air Force Veteran who spends his days working on our small Sparlin Ranch. We live in the Catalina/Coronado area. Our current herd includes 4 dairy cows, 3 cats, 2 horses, 2 dogs, and lots & lots of chickens, ducks, & guinea fowl. Our daughter, Isabelle KC, is 13-years-old; she is an active member of our local 4H club and horseback rider (mounted shooting, trick riding, & instructing).
In order to make this the best year possible for you, your student, and myself, I have included some important information throughout this website. I am very excited about this year; I hope it is a great one for all of us. Thank you!
