Dr. Charlene Stone
Welcome to my science classroom. I teach Biology for freshmen and Anatomy & Physiology for juniors and seniors. I enjoy teaching freshmen and watching them mature so much over the school year. I like teaching A & P because most of my students are interested in a medical related career , so they are motivated and engaged. I was attracted to teaching because I am a people person and feel that I relate well to teenagers. My background in neurobiology and psychology gives me a good understanding of the teenage brain and how teens learn. I constantly use this background to make my teaching effective.
Core Educational Belief
My priority is establishing a relationship with each of my students. I try to talk with every student every day. I make it very, very clear that I like each student and understand their strengths and weaknesses. I've seen so many students turn around their behavior and improve their grade when they know that we have a positive relationship. I try to create a team atmosphere in the classroom, where we are all working toward a clear goal. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and offering answers during group discussions.
