Mr. Chris Yetman
Welcome
Welcome to the world of mathematics. Whether you're a freshman in Algebra 1 or a senior in AP Calculus BC, I hope you can find understanding and inspiration in these pages.
Biography
Born in Tucson in 1964, Mr. Yetman has spent almost his entire life in southern Arizona. He's old. And beardy. And he probably taught your mom.
Defining Moment in Education
The happiness I see on a student's face when they say, "I finally understand this!" makes me understand why I have devoted more than 30 years to this job.
Core Education Belief
Everyone can learn, but not everyone learns in the same way.
Teaching Experience
This is my 34th year at CDO High School. I have also taught College Algebra, Calculus I and Calculus II at the University of Arizona. I work for the College Board during the summer, reading AP Calculus exams, as a question and table leader. I also work for NMSI as a LTF coach and SSS presenter for their CRP program.
Professional Accomplishments
I have taught nearly every level of high-school math, from Computation Skills to Vector Calculus. I was a 2005 'Ambassador for Excellence' for the Arizona Education Foundation Teacher of the Year Program. I was a Circle K Teacher of the Year finalist. I was the Siemens AP Calculus teacher of the year for the state of Arizona. I have been a Raytheon Math Hero. But my biggest professional accomplishment is that more than 2 dozen of my former students are now math teachers.
