Welcome to Spanish class.  My name is Mrs. Yetman and I have enjoyed teaching students Spanish for over 20 years.  This year I am teaching Spanish 1, 2 and 3. I received my BA from Texas A&M University and my teacher certification from the University of Arizona.  I am certified in both Spanish and English and early in my career I taught ESL classes in Barcelona, Spain.

I enjoy keeping up with current educational practices and have attended the AP Spanish Language exam summer seminar in Tucson. I have taught ESL to first graders, English to middle school and high school students and Spanish to middle and high school students.

My defining moment as a teacher is the satisfaction I receive when a student who typically does poorly in school realizes that they truly understand the content and can do well with consistent work.  My greatest satisfaction is seeing students realize their own potential. I like to think of my students as young adults and encourage them to be self motivated learners.

Students will be challenged to express themselves in Spanish in both written and oral formats.  We discuss many cultural topics of the Spanish-speaking world and even like to sing in Spanish.  I hope that my students will be challenged but also will enjoy their time in Spanish class and continue their quest to become bilingual like most people in the world.
