Message from the Superintendent

A man with blonde hair and blue eyes smiles for a portrait.

At Amphitheater, we believe in promise. We believe in the promise of every child in our community to learn, grow and achieve. We are also committed to the promise we make to every child: To help, challenge and support each of our students to do their best and to prepare them for the future.

Our mission is rooted in our Promise of a Graduate, which details the characteristics we help students develop from preschool through 12th grade. Scholarship, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Communication, Caring, Collaboration and Citizenship.

Each day, across our schools and in our programs, you will find dedicated teachers, staff, and leaders working together to support the growth and success of every learner.

We are proud of the many ways Amphitheater Public Schools is serving our community:

  • Imagine Preschools offer free or low-cost early childhood education at every elementary school and at all three of our high schools, thanks to generous support from Pima County and the Town of Oro Valley. These programs help our youngest learners get a strong start, while providing valuable, hands-on learning for high school students interested in early education careers.
  • Innovative Curriculum and Instruction continues to guide our work. Our English Language Arts and Mathematics curricula were selected with input from families, educators, and community members, and our educators lead the way in delivering rigorous, meaningful learning experiences.
  • Technology Integration across the District ensures that every student has access to more than one digital device, expanding opportunities to learn and connect both in and out of the classroom. Many of our classrooms are also equipped with interactive tools and resources that enhance engagement and instruction.
  • Personalized Learning Opportunities empower students to follow pathways aligned to their goals and interests. Programs such as gifted education (REACH), Career and Technical Education, AVID, Dual Enrollment, and expanded course offerings provide multiple avenues for challenge, enrichment, and exploration.
  • Our commitment to safety is unwavering. We understand that families entrust us with their children, and we take that responsibility seriously. We continuously review and strengthen our safety practices and foster school environments where every student feels supported, seen, and valued.

Whether you are new to Amphitheater or have been part of our community for many years, thank you for partnering with us. Together, we are shaping futures, strengthening our community, and helping every student reach their fullest potential.

Welcome to Amphitheater Public Schools.

Sincerely,

Todd A. Jaeger, J.D.
