Writing, Producing and Communicating on the Internet |
The Internet provides an environment for students to create and share their work globally to a much larger audience than their classroom or school. We must teach students that the Internet is not only a place for them to gain information, but also a place that they should contribute to as well. Publishing student work online, blogging and podcasting allows students to enhance their literacy and technology skills. It provides a purpose for their work and motivates them to edit and revise their work so they can be proud in what they contribute to the web.
Publishing on the web provides a wonderful opportunity for students, but we must protect them in the process and ensure their safety. Be sure to have parental permission before submitting student work and do not reveal personal information about the child.
