Hi My name is Stephanie Smalley and welcome to our classroom! I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Arizona in 2013. I have studied family communication, interpersonal communication, relational communication, mass communication, communication and conflict management, mass communication and children, argumentation, debate and research methods. I achieved my degree because I had a fear of public speaking, even asking a question in public. I understand the importance of communication and the role it plays for our students and their families. I have an Associates of Art and a Teacher's Certification from Pima Community and an Associates of Arts in Early Education from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California. For many years, I worked as an infant caregiver using the Reggio Emilia Approach. I use the Reggio Emilia Approach to this day in my teaching, which values the child as strong, capable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. Every student I have taught has been an honor to teach. I am a USA certified Swim instructor and coach.
