Amphi Academy Online 2nd - 5th Grade
All students who register for the Amphi Academy Online K-5 for elementary school will be assigned an Amphitheater teacher who will be specially trained to teach online. Students will be enrolled in Amphi Academy Online 2-5 as a separate school although some affiliation with their “brick and mortar” school will be maintained through regular communication and the ability to go back to the regular school, if open, upon request and consultation. Open enrolled students will not lose their ability to maintain enrollment in the school they have chosen.
Students will have daily contact with their assigned teacher online. The grade level teacher will provide live lessons through Zoom and assignments using online software. The classroom structure will be through Google Classroom and all assignments are online. Assignments will be graded and attendance will be taken based on instructional minutes on the software and the instructional time with the teacher.
Students will need access to the internet and a device for at least 3-4 hours a day with the remaining time set aside for activities, work, or projects requiring “off screen” time.
Teachers will provide live lessons at scheduled times during the day and provide a flexible schedule for students to follow in order to keep on track. In addition, teachers will meet with students individually by appointment or Zoom to check in on their progress and give assessments as needed. To the extent possible, parents will be asked to keep appointments that are scheduled in order to ensure that all students are receiving the attention they need from their teacher. Parents are highly engaged in this type of learning model as the coach for their child(ren).
Online learning provides the ability to meet the individual academic and social needs of students. Curriculum options include district core instructional materials such as: Reading Street, Everyday Math, iReady, Waterford plus Pearson Connexus, an online platform specifically designed for self paced online instruction. The learning needs of each student are discussed with parents in order to provide an individualized hybrid program utilizing all resources.
Families who want to choose the full-time online options should contact our Registrar Penny Neisius at 520-696-6845 or pneisius@amphi.com
