AFTER SCHOOL ACHIEVE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Breakfast With Books Grades K-5
When: Mondays-Fridays 7am Taught by: Mrs. HabinekBring your own breakfast from home or purchase one from our cafeteria and join us for breakfast with books! Students will have the opportunity to listen to some great stories read by Mrs. Habinek, club members, and some other very special guests while they enjoy their breakfast before school. All grade levels are welcome!
S.T.E.M Grades 1
When: Tuesdays 2:00-3:30 Taught by: Ms. DaigleSTEM Club gives students the opportunity to conduct hands-on experiments and build their science knowledge with fun and engaging activities. Students will perform STEM activities to incorporate science, technology, and math concepts. The goal of the club is to engage children from an early age in STEM activities and build excitement for the areas of math and science.
Math Team PiRates Grades 1-3
When: Tuesdays 2:00-3:30 Taught by: Mrs. DaleLet’s get together as a team and WIN at math! Join the Pi Rates to learn: good study habits + dedication = success! Grades 1-3 will work on homework, team math challenges, flash cards and other fun math games to feed our brains!
Fred's How-To-Days Grades 1-2

Let’s get busy learning new things! Mrs. Frederiksen is looking for anyone in grades 1-2 that want to learn HOW TO try new things. We will use art, food, sports, books, and more to explore our HOW TO potential. Come join the fun!STEAM Club Grades 2-3

This year we will be having fun conducting science experiments, exploring technology, solving problems through engineering, getting creative through art, and having some fun with math! Yarn Grades 3-5
When: Tuesdays 2:00–3:30 Taught by: Mrs. PerezYay! It is time to get creative with yarn. In this yarn club, you will learn to make trivets, coasters, pencil holders, and much more all out of yarn! This club will be a way for students to get creative and have fun with yarn.
Hayes How To Days Grades 4-5
When: Tuesdays 2:00-3:30 Taught by: Mrs. HayesWant to learn something new? Something that maybe you have never ever thought about learning? In Hayes How-to Days you will be doing just that! Each week we will learn a new, fun, exciting, sometimes random how-to! It could be how to speak a different language, how to write your name in the most amazing bubble letters ever, how to sing karaoke, how to create and write comics…the possibilities are endless! Through the incorporation of reading, writing math, science and social studies we will go on a new how-to journey together each week. This club will involve participation and lots of positive enthusiasm! Come learn amazing and fun things and have a blast while learning!
Sports, Fitness, & Fun Grades 4-5
When: Tuesdays 2:00-3:30 Taught by: Ms. PrattAre you into sports, fitness and fun? Are you looking to try some new sports this year? I know we will learn some basketball skills and more! Come join me for some fun and energetic sport games!
Arts and Crafts Grades 1 Taught by: Mrs. Perez
When: Thursdays 2:00-3:30
Do you like being creative? If so, this is the club for you! We are going to have so much fun! We will be incorporating reading to help us create art using yarn, pompoms, paint, jumbo stems, popsicle sticks, and so much more. This club will involve participation, lots of positive enthusiasm and the chance to be creative. I’ll see you on Thursdays!
Mesa Verde Milers Grades 1st-5th Taught by: Mrs. Dale & Mrs. Frederiksen
When: Thursdays 2:00-3:30
Come join us as we learn endurance and pacing through running. Mrs. Dale and Mrs. Frederiksen are so excited to share their love of running with anyone in grades 1-5. We want to be a part of the 100-mile club, could we make it before the 100th day of school?? We think we can! Let’s get outside and have some fun!
Odyssey of the Mind Grades Kinder-2nd Taught by: Ms. Pratt
When: Thursdays 2:00-3:30
OM promotes creative problem-solving skills in students. Teams will choose a long-term problem to solve throughout the year. In order to be successful, OM Teams will need to attend weekly meetings as well as team meetings outside of school and competitions.
Little Surfers Grades 2nd-3rd Taught by: Mrs. Schleicher
When: Thursdays 2:00-3:30
Come fall in love with the game of soccer in a fun environment! Students are taught the basics of soccer including dribbling and teamwork with the main goal of having fun while developing foundational soccer skills. Each session will include a developmental skill activity with lots of running and small game play to finish! Students are asked to bring water and shin guards.
Mountain Lion Entrepreneurs Club (E-Club) Grades 3rd-4th Taught by: Mrs. Rayleigh & Mrs. Johnson
When: Thursdays 2:00-3:30
Mountain Lion Entrepreneurs will practice project-based learning activities that integrate math, economics, and real-world application. For example, how to build a theme park or how to run a pet store. In this club, 4th and 5th grade students will work together in small groups and independently to determine how they would like their new-business set up, ran and how to budget appropriately for their project.
Odyssey of the Mind Grades 3rd-5th Taught by: Mrs. Edmiston

If you like to perform or sing, come and join the Mesa Verde Drama Llamas. We will be putting on a musical performance of The Polar Express at Christmas, and a living museum presentation in the Spring.
Cooking Club Grades 4th-5th Taught by: Mrs. Habinek

Do you like to eat? Do you want to learn some basic cooking skills? If you said yes, then cooking club is the perfect club for you! This year we will be whipping up some healthy snacks and quick dishes to help us learn about basic cooking skills and meal planning. Cooking is a great way to connect with others, foster reading and math skills, and learn how to fuel our bodies with healthy foods. 4th – 5th graders get cookin’ and join today!

Singing is so good for you, and singing in a group is a great way to make friends and connect with your community! Singing builds stamina and breath-control, and it is a great way to build self-confidence. We will sing a ton of fun warm ups and songs, and we’ll play musical games. We will sing popular songs you may know and some that are new. Join us!
