I love working as the ELD/SEI specialist teacher at both Mesa Verde and Harelson! I have been an English Language Development (ELD) teacher here in the Amphitheater School District since 2018. Perviously, I was a reading intervention support teacher (2017- 2019), and taught as a classroom teacher for many years after graduating from the U of A. I first began my teaching experience in the Sunnyside School District in 2005, where I taught 5th and 2nd Grade classes where language development was a key necessity. Then, I moved to 3rd grade Mesa Verde in 2012, and fell in love with this Amphi community. My other experiences also include tutoring both reading and math for K-5 students. Additionally, I had the opportunity to teach pre-school for a few years (2014 - 2017), and enjoyed the experience of teaching ELD to middle schoolers as well (2019 - 2020). My exposure at all these grades and ages has allowed me to ensure success for each child because I know what is expected at each level. I want students to reach their full potential and enjoy the process of learning about themselves and others. The uniqueness that each child brings to our classroom is definitely exciting, and I'm lucky to watch their confidence grow so much over time. Teaching reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills is a true passion. My goal is to celebrate both the small and large successes each day. In my spare time I love to read, hike, listen to music, play board games, watch movies, and be with my family and friends. My husband Adrian and I have two daughters who also attend school here, and we adore our Amphi Family!
