Haley Carolin
My name is Haley Carolin and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher. I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. I moved to Tucson in the 9th grade and attended Mountain View High School. I went to college at both the University of Arizona and Pima Community College. I love learning, reading, baking, traveling, dancing, and teaching the wonderful students at Keeling Elementary!
Defining Moment in my Education
When I was a junior in high school, I was hired to teach one weekly dance class to 5-8 year olds. Teaching one class turned into 3, and by the time I was in college I was teaching approximately 15 hours per week. As a dance teacher I enjoyed teaching students to persevere when something was difficult for them, and after much practice, to finally master that challenging step. Additionally, I loved helping students discover their own interests and use those interests to motivate them in their learning. In college I finally came to the realization that teaching children was my passion. I immediately changed my major from Family Studies to Elementary Education, and I have been involved in education ever since.
Why I Teach at Keeling
I absolutely love Keeling. The parents are respectful, and the students are so appreciative and eager to learn. Furthermore, the staff is incredible. We all work towards one goal: doing what is in the best interest for our Keeling students.
Prior Experience
This is my eighth year teaching at Keeling! I completed my student teaching in a 1st grade classroom at Walker Elementary School, and I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grade.
Professional Accomplishments
In 2020 I was recognized as one of United Way's Literacy Champions. It was an honor to be recognized, and I am truly grateful to United Way for valuing and supporting literacy in our community.
