My name is Meghan Blayda and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher. I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I went to college at both the University of Arizona and Pima Community College. I am now working on earning my Master's degree in childhood and adolescent counseling. I love our social emotional program here at Keeling (grades K-1). The program is  Kimochis and we will be using Kimochis a lot during the year to learn about what feelings are, how they work and how to express them. I love reading, working out, cooking, baking, taking hikes, being outside in nature, going to the lake and volleyball!

Defining Moment in my Education

I am the second oldest out of four children in my family. I grew up teaching my brothers and sisters how to do things! I also knew I wanted to help others, I just did not know what that looked like yet. My whole life my grandmother worked in and out of schools. She wore many different hats in the field of education. I remember her coming home and telling us stories about all of the amazing kids she was working with. This inspried me to become a teacher. I wanted to make a difference just like my grandma had made a difference in so many lives! I am so thankful I followed in her footsteps because I love being a teacher! It is my calling and I love every second of teaching!

Why I Teach at Keeling

I absolutely love Keeling. The Keeling staff is incredible and one of a kind. Keeling is a second home to me and where my heart is. We all work towards one goal: doing what is in the best interest for our Keeling students. I also an so thankful I get to teach at Keeling because of the studnets and parents! The students and parents are so respectful, responsible and Keeling Kind! 

Prior Experience

This is my third year teaching at Keeling! I worked at Mesa Verde one year before coming to Keeling where I also taught first grade. I have been teaching first grade for four years.
