Hello Keeling Families. My name is Hoc Huynh and I am one of the fourth grade teachers here at Keeling Elementary.

Background

Originally, I am from San Diego, California but I have been living in Tucson for most of my adult life where I attended and graduated from the University of Arizona South. I have been working with children since high school where I volunteered at my younger sister's elementary school. When it was time to pick a career path, teaching came naturally to me. 

Core Educational Beliefs

I believe education is the way forward. It is how we grow and continue to become a better society. As a teacher, I believe it is my responsiblity to educate and provide opportunities for my students to learn and grow. 

Defining Moment in my Education

One of my first experiences working with children was as a reading coach. I helped students who had little or no experience with reading in English. These students reminded me of myself. English was not my first language and my family spoke another language at home so I remembered struggling with it in school. Since then, I have worked hard to help students and show them it is possible and they can achieve anything if they continue learning.
