Hello Copper Creek Families!
I am so excited about the up-and-coming school year. We have some new faces on staff and many staff members who have moved to a new position. For the 2024-2025 school year, we will be very focused on personalized learning and our PBIS Program. Our PBIS program focuses on positive behaviors and allows students to earn incentives for showing positive behaviors. The HAWK Expectations will be explicitly taught to students and enforced throughout the day in every classroom and common area. The HAWK expectations are:
H - Have Respect
A - Act Responsibly
W - Work Together
K - Keep Safe
Each week, teachers and students will develop a class incentive and a process for which they will earn the weekly reward; this will build up to a monthly and a quarterly incentive. It is important not to look at it from a punitive standpoint, but from an incentive standpoint - students are rewarded for following the HAWK Expectations. Our new Social Studies curriculum is aligned with the state standards and is going to assist us in rolling out the PBIS concepts which will start with being a positive part of a community.
Personalized learning is an educational approach that aims to customize learning for each student's strengths, needs, skills, and interests. Copper Creek is an accelerated math school, and we will be reviewing student data in order to ensure that students are placed in the appropriate math class for them. Students may transition to a different teacher for their math block. We will let you know if this impacts your child.
I look at us as being partners in the educational process. No one knows our students better than the parents/guardians, and we will work collaboratively with you to ensure your child reaches their greatest potential every day. I am a very proud mom of four children. It was important for me as a parent to be involved in my children’s education, so I understand the need for good communication and a positive relationship.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to an AMAZING school year.
