Student Council

  • Copper Creek Student Council Welcome to the Copper Creek Student Council Information Page

The mission of the Copper Creek Student Council is to provide the opportunity for leadership for our Student Council Representatives and to promote good values and good character to our student body. Our Student Council Representatives are expected to lead by example in our classrooms and all school functions by displaying strong values of character. Our Student Council Representatives will also perform duties that include: helping others less fortunate members in our community by conducting various drives throughout the school year, will engage and participate in our school functions, and will also work to enhance our school atmosphere.

Our Copper Creek Student Council is comprised of third, fourth and fifth grade students who were chosen by their homeroom peers and teachers. Two representatives will be selected from each classroom. Officers for our Student Council will be selected from our Student Council group and will include:

    • President - 5th graders only
    • Vice President - 5th graders only
    • Secretary - 4th or 5th graders only
    • Treasurer - 4th or 5th graders only
    • Sergeant at Arms - 4th or 5th graders only

Meetings are held twice a month after school (2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month). At each meeting, we follow the Roberts' Rules of Conduct as we take role, discuss and vote on issues at hand. Our main fundraising goal is to raise funds to support the Splash-and-Fun Day held in May. To reach this goal, we have many fundraising opportunities throughout the year which include a quarterly Student Store where we sell small items ranging from $0.25 to $3.00, holiday grams and staff appreciation grams.

We also serve our community by participating in various activities such as: the Warm Clothing Drive for the Amphi Clothing Bank, the Oro Valley Community Food Drive, Purple Up! for Military Families, and the Heavently Hat Parade. We also collect pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.
