Welcome to Mrs. Cordell's 4th grade

My name is Mandi Cordell and I have been teaching 5th grade for the past 8 years. This year I am honored to be teaching 4th grade at Innovation Academy. I love projects and helping my students learn through hands on relevant activities. I truly enjoy the community here and interacting with students and families.

Defining Moment in Education

Everything I have ever done has always involved building relationships with others and teaching. I absolutely loved the sciences and sought out jobs involving learning and teaching. In college I had an opportunity to teach survival skills and science concepts to kids in summer camp. It was a perfect combination, using my science background and interacting with the most creative and enthusiastic people I know, kids!

Core Educational Belief

I believe every child can succeed. Success looks different for everyone and I believe in building relationships and self confidence in all my students. If a child believes they are valued and that I care for them unconditionally they have the confidence to try. I enjoy getting to know my students personally and helping them feel pride and success in their efforts to learn.
