My Defining Moment in Education

 I think that my defining moment in Education was when I was teaching a 5/6th grade combination classroom.   It was a brain challenge, and a learning process that I enjoyed immensely. My students were eager to learn, and I was eager to guide them through the learning process.  We had guest speakers, field trips, and many great classroom discussions.  I knew that in those teaching moments we learned together from our failures and our successes.  

My Educational Beliefs

 I have learned over the years that knowledge can be presented in many different forms, and that all children have a desire to communicate their learning.  My goal is to help my students find their voice, their passion, their avenue to share their information.

My Prior Experience

 I have been in the classroom for the last nineteen years in many different capacities. I have been a K-12th grade guest teacher, AmeriCorps Youth Serve Middle School Teacher, taught summer school , been a 6th grade science teacher, a 5/6th Grade teacher, a 6-8th Grade Science and Math Teacher, and most recently a 5th grade teacher.
