• Our School Profile

Rio Vista has highly qualified staff involved in on-going professional training. We serve students from kindergarten through fifth grade. All students receive 90 minutes of direct reading instruction at their grade level, which is determined by classroom assessments and our Measure of Academic Performance (MAP) testing results. Grades K-5  use Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for their reading instruction. They also use the research-based program, Everyday Mathematics, for their math instruction.

Our school provides instruction for students with special needs and interests through the English Language Development program, gifted education (REACH), special education, response to intervention (RTI), and tutoring.

All students participate in P.E., art, computer, library, music, and STEM classes. We also offer students opportunities to participate in robotics, student council, band, orchestra, and other extracurricular activities.

    Our Goal

Every student will be proficient or excelling in all subjects without excuse and without exception. This is our responsibility.

    Our Mission

Rio Vista Elementary exists to inspire a passion for education and learning. To instill the absolute belief in our students  that they will succeed in a global society.
