Welcome to my page,

The 2023-2024 school year marks my 13th year teaching!  I graduated from the University of Arizona with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and my Master of Arts in Language, Reading, and Culture.  I am originally from Rio Rico, Arizona.  I look forward to getting to work with you and your family this year!

Defining Moment in Education

I was fortunate to have many amazing teachers throughout my educational career, which have all led me on the path to becoming a teacher.

Core Educational Belief

I believe that all students can, and want to, learn and succeed. I believe that every child is different from every other child. This means that every parent and every teacher must figure out the best combination of strategies and techniques to use in order to maximize a child’s growth – academically, emotionally, and socially. I believe that children learn best in an environment that is safe, encouraging, enjoyable, challenging, enriching, and which fosters risk taking (trying even when you aren’t sure of the answer). 

Prior Experience

    9th year of teaching 5th grade

    4th year as an AVID Staff Developer

    4 years of teaching 6th grade: reading and language arts and social studies.

    3 years of sixth grade Language Arts curriculum development
