I grew up in Tucson and atteded school in the Amphitheater district.  After achieving a BA with dual majors in history and political science, I worked in Yellowstone National Park for five summers while substitute teaching in Tucson Unified School District during the off seasons.  While I enjoyed teaching and interacting with all of the students with whom I helped, I felt an even stronger connection with those students who were not necessarily successful in school for whatever reason.  After two years of study, I received my MA in Special Education.  Since then, I have worked with children in both the resource room setting as well as the general education classroom.

I am married, with two children, two cats , and two dogs.  I am an outdoor enthusiast.  When I am not at work, I enjoy activities such as camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing.
