Welcome to Speech Therapy!  I am excited to be back at Painted Sky and look forward to another fantastic year.

Defining Moment: Working with children who are struggling with their communication skills learn how to clearly express themselves is always a defining moment for me.  Being a facilitator of communication is an absolute joy!

Core Educational Belief:  I believe all children can communicate and it is our responsibility to teach them how to be effective communicators.

Prior Experience:  I began my career in Indiana as an Outpatient Speech-Language Pathologist at a local hospital.  I specifically worked with traumatic brain injury individuals and assisted them with return to work or return to school.  After getting married, my husband and I moved to Chicago and I worked in a middle school where I was able to utilize my teaching license as well as my Speech Pathology degree.  I also provided private practice for a few students as well as providing Home Health services.  Returning to Indiana, I began providing services under First Steps, the Early Intervention Program.  I also worked as an outpatient therapist at one of the local hospitals.  After several years, we moved to Arizona where I soon transitioned to the Amphitheater School District. 

Education Degrees & Certification:  I earned my B.S. in Audiology & Speech Sciences at Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Indiana.  I earned my M.A. Ed in Communication Disorders from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.  I have my Certificate of Clinical Competence and am a licensed Arizona Speech-Language Pathologist.

Professional Accomplishments:  I obtained my CCC's and have maintained yearly continuing education requirements.  I also have earned my Early Education certificate.
