Background:
I have been proudly teaching at Amphitheater High School for the past 20 years. Amphi was my very first teaching job. My degree is a B.S in Kinesiology with an Option in Teaching/Coaching. I graduated from Cal State University of Hayward (currently known as Cal State East Bay). Currently I am a National Board Certified Physical Education Teacher as well as the Department Head for Physical Education here at Amphi. I have coached Cheerleading, Dance, Swimming and Diving, Girls Tennis as well as Unified Special Olympics.
Accomplishments:
- Special Oymipics Unified Sports Coach.
- 2019 AZ Special Olympics Unified Basketball State Champs.
- 2018 team made it to AZ final Four Special Olympics Unified Basketball State Tournament.
- 2016, 2017,2018 and 2019 -Basketball Team won Gold in Southern Arizona Special Olympics.
- 2019- 2 teams received Gold in Unified Bowling.
- 2019- 3 teams received Gold In Unified Track and Field.
- Amphi High School is now a Special Olympics Unified Champion School- Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools Bring youth with and with intellectual disabilities together through sports and education to create school communities of acceptance and respect.
- Advisor for Interact Club- Interact club is service club for youth and is part of Rotary International.
- 2014- Present students from Amphi High School has participated in over 100 community service events for the past 5 years.
- Dance Coach- 2019 placed 2nd in Hip Hop and 2018 1st place in Hip Hop.
- Girls Tennis Coach-2000-2010- Head Tennis Coach.
- 2004 Highest G.P.A. for Girls Tennis Regionally.
- 2008 Doubles team placed 2nd regional tournament and in the Semi Final For State Tournament.
- 2001-2008 Varsity Swin & Dive Coach- Swimmers and Divers qualified for state every year that I was coaching.
