Reading Language Arts Homework |
- Nightly reading from your choice of books will be recorded on a monthly calendar in your child's Planner. Children must read for 20 minutes every night, Monday through Thursday. Raz Kids is an integral part of our at home reading expectations for first grade students and does count as part of the at home reading requirement of 20 minutes daily, four times per week.
- Complete any unfinished work in Reading or Math Cafes. The work is due the next school day.
- For additional "homework" opportunities, please see the "Activity Calendars" for First Grade students and optional "Book Projects" as well as "Math Super Stars" on our class website.

Monthly Activity Calendar: (Available on our class website) |
- This is an optional homework activity. If you choose to have your child complete the Monthly Activity Calendar, they are due the last school day of the month. Reminder, this is optional.

Expectations |
- Homework is a required part of the first grade report card and is expected to be completed and turned in on the next school day. . Pencils should be used to complete the homework and neatness should always be emphasized. Parents need to check homework assignment/s/ for neatness and accuracy at all times.
- Parents must sign the students' Daily Planner on a nightly basis and record the number of minutes read in the appropriate space. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated! NOTE: Planners will be sent home the beginning of September.
