General Information
* The first bell rings at 7:20 am and instruction begins promptly at 7:25 am. Punctuality is important.
* Students are dismissed at 2:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday, we dismiss at 12:00 PM. If you are picking your child up at school, please meet them in front of the office. If you need to change your child's dismissal plans, please send a note, send an email, or call first thing in the morning. Please do not wait until the afternoon to change plans unless absolutely necessary. If I do not have a note or a phone call from a parent, your child will be sent home according to the dismissal information we have on record.
* Please make sure that your child wears tennis shoes on PE day. For safety reasons, children will not be able to participate in PE if they are wearing any other type of shoes.
* Please remember to wear comfortable clothing to school which you don't mind getting dirty on the playground. Please remember the school dress code.
* Occasionally, I will include in the newsletter, via email, a wish list of items that we can use in the classroom for special activities. Some things we can always use are: zip loc bags (all sizes), baby wipes, Mr. Clean magic erasers, hand sanitizer, and glue sticks.
* Snacks and treats: We will NOT do group snacks this year. We will be having a morning recess. Your child needs to bring in a healthy snack for our morning recess. Please send snacks in on M, T, Th, F in your child's backpack. We will not have a morning recess on Wednesday due to early dismissal.
* It is important that the kids stay hydrated, especially in this hot weather. It is imperative that your child brings a water bottle to school DAILY. We have a drinking fountain on the playground and one in the classroom which students can use when they are thirsty, as well as water bottle refilling stations. Juice, milk, and sports drinks are great lunchtime beverages, but should not be used as a substitute for a water bottle. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
* Please do not bring toys to school. Toys which distract from our learning will be taken and kept in a tub in my office. Parents must come to claim the toys; they will not be returned to students, only to parents. I cannot guarantee the safe return of any toys, so please do not bring them to school.*Sharing (Show and Tell) is a daily happening in our classroom! Children are automatically assigned a day and this information is posted weekly in our classroom newsletter, via email. Children may bring in two items on their sharing day. Please make sure that these items are safely placed in your child's backpack. Thank you for your cooperation.
*Please make sure that you have signed up to receive our class text messages. If you have not done so, please contact Mr. Bailey and he will provide you with the information needed to receive text messages. It is imperative to sign up for text messages as I tend to send numerous texts weekly to keep parents informed about what's going on in our classroom.
