Welcome to third grade!. My goal as a teacher is to help you child become an independent and life-long learner.  I am here to guide and support your student. I want for the students to have a love of learning and be excited to come to school. I love to see student’s faces and their joy and excitement as they arrive here at school.

 Let Me Introduce Myself

I have been teaching for 20 years in various positions.  I love to teach!! I have taught Head Start Preschool for 4 years, Physical education for 9 years, and second grade for 7 years.  I now have the opportunity of teaching third grade here at Lulu Walker.  I am so excited to be here.

I am married and have three wonderful grown children which all live in different state. Shawn and Heather are my oldest and youngest. They live in Las Vegas, Nevada.  My middle child Jason lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. All three have gone to college. The boys have graduated and Heather is in her senior year at Nevada State.

Hobbies and Interests:

I love traveling. At least once a year my husband and I and whatever extended family is available go on a family vacation.  I enjoy traveling to Utah and Nevada to visit my children. The added bonus is while in Utah I get to visit with over 60 extended family members. I love to read books and do some crafting when I can squeeze them in.

 Defining Moment in my Education

I am not sure if I really had a defining moment in my education.  I just came to realize that I love learning.  I am a lifelong learner.  As a learner I have enjoyed teaching and sharing what I have learned with others.  So I went back to school to get my master’s in education.  That way I can share my love of learning.  I love to see students face light up when they have learned something.
