Prior Experience

This is my second year teaching first grade at Walker. I previously taught kindergarten, first, second and fifth grade classes in Toronto, Canada. I have a BSc in Psychology and a Masters in Teaching from the University of Toronto. After moving to Tucson with my husband, I also completed a Masters in Arts specializing in Language, Reading and Culture at the University of Arizona College of Education.

Why I am committed to Amphi

Amphi’s core values fit with my teaching philosophy. I strive to empower all students to become contributing members of society equipped with the skills, knowledge, and values necessary to meet the challenges of our changing world. With a focus on STEM, I hope to inspire your child by engaging in inquiry and encouraging critical thinking, in a safe and caring environment.

Defining Moment in my Education

I seek to instill a growth mindset in all my students and nothing is more rewarding than seeing them realize that they can achieve anything. Special defining moments actually occur every day both inside and outside of the classroom and are a constant reminder that I truly have the best job in the world!

Why I Teach at Lulu Walker Elementary School

The community at Lulu Walker strives to meet the individual needs of all our students. By working and learning from each other, my colleagues inspire me to constantly learn and develop as a teacher. Their positive and caring nature have instilled values that are important to model for our students. I feel fortunate to be surrounded by such wonderful colleagues and a supportive community of parents and students.
