Welcome to our classroom! I am very excited about being a part of your child’s education and look forward to the journey ahead. I have been teaching for 18 years and have loved every minute of it! I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and I also have my Master’s Degree in Education.
I am an Arizona native and love the sunshine and traditions that surround Arizona. My family is from a local mining town just out of Tucson. I come from a long line of teachers in my family and have learned many things from them.
I have a wonderful family and love spending time with them. I love music, painting, dancing, reading and just being with friends and family.
Defining Moment in Education
During my years of going to school I always remember those wonderful teachers that stood-out and told me that I am smart and I can achieve anything I put my mind to. This inspired me to become a teacher and be “THAT” teacher that inspires her students. As an educator I want my students to know that they can achieve anything they set their minds to and to know that they are smart. We all learn in different ways but we all can achieve all that we inspire to be. It is up to us to believe in ourselves AND not to forget those wonderful teachers that believe in us too!!
Core Educational Belief
I believe that all students have the ability to achieve their goals in life and go to college. It’s about finding the right techniques and study skills to help them. This, plus the empowerment of them believing in themselves is what makes a student successful. Not to mention, their family and teachers that encourage them to reach higher than they thought they could.
I have taught in Sahuarita for most of my teaching career. I have taught 3rd, 5th and 6th grade and have found that teaching these grades have taught me so much on how my students learn.
