Alex Smith
Welcome to Wilson Middle School PE
My Name is Alex Smith and this is my 11th year teaching Physical Education and year 9 here at Wilson K-8. This will be my 8th year as Wilson's Athletic Director and I have 7 years teaching Adapted PE.
I have taught PE, coached and was the Athletic Director at Old Vail Middle School in the Vail School District for two years prior to joining the Wilson team. I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Physical Education. I also completed my student teaching hours here at Wilson before completion of my college degree. I graduated in May 2019 with my Masters is Educational Leadership, emphasis in Principal K-12. I also hold my Arizona Real Estate License and have been doing Real Estate for 8 years during my school breaks and summers.
I am originally from California but have been raised here in Tucson since I was very young. I am a former student of Wilson and grew up here in Oro Valley, also graduating from Ironwood Ridge in 2006. I have an identical twin brother and love to stay involved in all kinds of sports. My favorite sport is soccer but also share high interests in basketball and football. I enjoy coaching these sports as well. My other interests include attending many U of A sporting events and participating in local fund raising events.
I am excited for a fun and healthy school year.
Thank You,
-Coach Smith
