• Sections of the Meet and Confer Sections

    Policy Portion of Meet-and-Confer

When the policy portion of meet-and-confer beings, the teams meet first as a group to determine their program of work.  Once the program of work is determined, the teams divide into 2 committees:

    1. A “Professional Staff Policy Committee” responsible to meet-and-confer and make recommendations regarding professional staff policies, and
    2. A “Support Staff Policy Committee” responsible to meet-and-confer and make recommendations regarding support staff policies.

Each committee consists of three (3) members from the AEA team and three (3) members from the District team.  Each team also provides a Facilitator for each committee to provide direction and leadership for the committee and to facilitate the committee meetings.

These committees meet separately on personnel policies affecting their respective groups.  They meet jointly on personnel policies that affect all District employees.

    Compensation Portion of Meet-and-Confer

When the compensation portion of meet-and-confer begins, the AEA team and District team meet-and-confer as a single group to make recommendations for an employee compensation and fringe benefits package for the following fiscal year.
