• Portrait of a Graduate

Amphitheater Public Schools' Portrait of a Graduate is a visionary expression of the qualities and skills the district seeks to develop in all students who earn a diploma from the Amphitheater school district.

The Portrait of a Graduate contains eight areas important to ensuring that students complete their school experience ready for college and career and prepared to contribute to the world around them. They are Scholarship, Communication, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Problem-Solving, Collaboration, Citizenship, and Caring.

The Amphitheater School District community came together to create this vision for our students' futures. Please take a moment to review each component of the Portrait of a Graduate and join us on this exciting educational journey.

In 2023-2024, the District is dedicated a month for each characteristic to capture how students learn about and express the traits.

We invite our community to participate in this initiative! Please complete this form to let us know you are interested in being a part of The Year of the Portrait of a Graduate.

September is Creative Thinking Month! Check out the photos below to see our creative Amphitheater community.

In every Amphitheater school, students learn to use a wide range of techniques to generate, develop and evaluate ideas. Students are encouraged to take creative risks, follow curiosities and put their ideas into action. Imagination, creativity and innovation are valued, and are considered vital to achieving growth that reaches across all academic disciplines.

Students at Amphitheater learn to research, identify and analyze information and use those skills to make sound judgments and employ effective reasoning. Teachers help students develop skills in scientific inquiry, the engineering design process and logic to understand and evaluate material and apply this thinking in the real world.
