Elementary Education
in the Amphitheater District
-
Amphitheater's approach to elementary education focuses on building a strong foundation in core academic areas, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies while also providing education in arts, music and PE. Our certified teachers foster problem-solving skills, creativity, and a love of learning, all within a safe and nurturing environment.
We keep our classroom sizes small to ensure our students get the attention they need, and when it's time for a change of scenery, children enjoy playgrounds with plenty of room to run and play! Our libraries carry more than 30,000 books and our STEM labs are packed with materials for building and experimenting. We have one-to-one laptops available when learning calls for technology, but our students spend the bulk of their time learning from certified teachers and interacting with peers in the classroom.
To support diverse learning needs, our schools integrate modern educational platforms and personalized approaches.
One such platform, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), helps students develop organizational, study, and critical thinking skills, with a focus on closing achievement gaps and preparing students for long-term academic success. AVID encourages active learning and engagement through collaborative learning strategies and goal setting, beginning in the early grades.
Additionally, Amphitheater embraces a personalized learning approach, which supports teachers in tailoring educational experiences to individual student needs. By leveraging data and technology, personalized learning creates custom learning paths, allowing students to progress at their own pace and ensuring that each child receives targeted support where needed.
