How to Use MajorClarity for College and Career Preparation & Planning
The My Portfolio link provides an overview of your work in MajorClarity. You can see your progress toward completing the steps that we have identified as important for your grade level, review your career path test drives and academic planning, as well as quickly see your favorite colleges, scholarships, careers, CTE Pathways, and more.
The Student Journal page allows you to make notes and write down your goals and thoughts during your exploration process.
The Assessments page is where you can complete the Personality and Learning Styles Assessments and learn a little more about your results. If you want, you can even reset the assessment and try again. In fact, we encourage you to do this at least once a year.
After completing the Personality and Learning Styles Assessments, students can visit the Career Exploration page to explore hundreds of different careers. You can watch interviews by real professionals or try an activity to learn by doing. Make sure to record your rating for each interview and activity to update your FitScore. You can also favorite Career Paths and Occupations. You will find all of your ratings and favorites in your Portfolio.
This tool will allow you to view the career pathways available to you in Amphi. You can explore and experiment with your schedule here without impacting your current schedule.
The Postsecondary Exploration tab is a place where you can research colleges by name, program, state, and even type of college. When you click on the colleges you will find more information about entrance requirements, cost of attending, and the popular programs at that school. There's even an embedded link that will take you to the college's website and one that will assist you in calculating the costs of college. Trust us, there is a lot more to it than tuition, books, and housing.
There is no need for you to pay for expensive scholarship searches or to visit secondary websites. In MajorClarity you have access to over 20,000 scholarships. You can also click on "Show only Local Scholarships" to see scholarships shared with Amphi by local and national partners.
Start building your resume. The Resume Builder tab walks you through the questions you will need to answer to create a real resume. When you have finished, click on "View Resume" to open a PDF. It's a great place to start.
The Work-Based Learning tab has some excellent tools. When you open this tab you will notice three additional tabs that are available.
- Local Opportunities - The Local Opportunities tab is a place where you can find local internships, work opportunities for career-prep students, and a general classified listing of local employers who want to hire Amphi students.
- Internships by Indeed - The Internships by Indeed tab is one you may want to review while you are in high school, but it will be very valuable after you graduate from high school and start looking for internships related to your career goals and college programs.
- WBL Partner Profiles - This tab gives more information about the companies that have partnered with Amphi to offer internships, career-prep jobs, and job searches.
The steps to completing college applications can get confusing. Use the Application Center tab to track your progress as you select colleges and complete your applications.
