Governing Board Meetings
The Governing Board of Amphitheater Unified School District No. 10 of Pima County will hold Governing Board meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, except for November and December when only one meeting is held.
We will have a quorum in attendance at meetings even though the Superintendent and Board members may not all be gathered in a central, physical location. Arizona permits Board members to attend meetings by videoconference or telephone.
The first meeting of the month the Board will conduct regular business, which includes recognitions, information, consent and study items.
The second meeting of the month the Board will include some regular public matters, as well as Executive Session, which may include student discipline, personnel matters, negotiations with employee organizations, the purchase or lease of real property, and consultation regarding legal matters with legal counsel. Regular session of these Board meetings shall be open to the public and to the media. Executive Sessions are closed to the public and media.
In months when just one meeting is scheduled, the Board may conduct both regular business and executive session matters.
Executive Session may be called on Regular meeting dates as needed. Additional meetings may be called by the Board as needed. The regular meeting schedule may be adjusted due to holidays or special school events.
Governing Board meetings are held in the Leadership and Professional Development Center, 701 W. Wetmore Road, Tucson, AZ 85705, unless notice to the contrary is posted. Generally, Regular Governing Board meetings commence at approximately 6:00 p.m., and Special Governing Board meetings commence at 5:30 p.m. As times vary, current information will be indicated on Agenda postings.
Notices and Agendas of all Governing Board meetings and its committees, including updates to location or time, will be posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. These Notices and Agendas, as well as Governing Board meeting schedules, are posted at 701 W. Wetmore Rd., Tucson, AZ 85705, in the bulletin board case located at the front, center entrance of the campus. Notices and Agendas are also posted on the District’s web site, www.amphi.com.
