I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time of covid19. Ms. Ehramjian, my student teacher, and I have created Remind accounts for the students to sign up for reminders on assignments, along with using our Google Classroom. If you need help signing into either one of the accounts please email us. Ms. Ehramjian's for US History classes: firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can email me at email@example.com for US and World History students. I will be checking my email throughout each day we are out of school.
Please check my IRHS webpage, Google Classroom, and google calendar for updates and lessons throughout the school closure. We will be posting our assignments daily on Google Classoom, along with Power Points or Google slides, also we will post our Power points on the school website. Our class calendar will let just give you an idea on what lesson and activity we will be doing each day.
For those of you who have not signed up for Remind, please download the APP or go to Remind.com, send a text to 81010, and put in @whgipson for World History and aehram for US history. Again, if you have any problems just send us an email. firstname.lastname@example.org
Stay safe!!! :)
Hello, my name is Lori Gipson and I am a social studies teacher at IRHS. I am certified to teach History and Government, and currently teach US history and World History. I have been teaching at IRHS for the past 12 years, and this year we have Ani Ehramjian co teaching with me.
I graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in social studies.
Prior to teaching at IRHS, I was a physical education teacher at ESC in Phoenix.
I started the History TRAVEL club in 2012, so that we could add to the educational experience of students in my history classes. We take trips to local historical spots, have guest speakers, such as Jim Zwerg, and help students with scholarship opportunities! I enjoy taking kids to historical sites to see the history they study. The History Travel Club plans on taking kids on a trip to a historical place in Arizona and an additional trip somewhere in the US!!
I love to travel so that I can experience new and different cultures, along with visiting the historical sites I teach about in my social studies classes. I have been fortunate in being able to visit places like Normandy and Paris France, London England, Rome Italy, the Vatican City, and Prague Czech Republic! Within the U.S. some of my favorite places are the North western part of Montana, Washington DC, and New York City. But really there are too many great places to name them all! This past summer I took students on a trip to the D-day 75 anniversary! If you are interested in having your child travel with me in 2020 we are taking a trip to Italy and Greece! *These are not school sponsored or supported trips* Please contact me for information. email@example.com
New trip for 2021: New Zealand, Australia, and Hawaii!! If you are interested you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will be giving out information in January! We will be seeing places like the Great Barrier Reef, the Opera House, USS Arizona memorial, Dole plantation, Polynesian cultural center, just to name a few :) Remember, this is not a school sponsored trip, I do this on my own time. :)
I will add information as I get updated information.
Please check the links on my webpage for the syllabus, calendar of information, etc.
I am looking for a wonderful year with your child! :)
